What is a new learning environment?

We have already begun to develop a definition of technology-enhanced learning environments -- but what is the definition of a learning environment in general? How can that definition help to refine ours?

A learning environment includes all of the elements that make up the design and implementation of the instruction; it includes all conditions, circumstances, and influences that affect the learners' development -- Lever-Duffy chapter distributed in class.


We'll create a visual representation of this definition during today's class.

There is much talk about the "new learning environment." What does that mean? What is the role of the teacher and student in this environment? What is technology's role? What are the new conditions, circumstances, and influences that affect learner development?

What can we add to our visual representation to show the new learning environment?
